Aloha in their Hearts

The Hawaiian word for love is Aloha, and I have had the pleasure of watching the Aloha between these two amazing people grow over the years.  I met Brad and Amanda years ago.  We bonded over Burning Man and other shared interests.  I was fortunate enough to photograph them out at the Burning Man festival in 2011 where we caught this amazing image.

I was honored when they asked me to photograph their Hawaiian wedding in 2013.  They loved the above image so much that we had to replicate it at their wedding.  So on January 11, 2013, in Kona, HI... we created this image:

They are planning to print both of them and hang them side-by-side in their home.  Cheers guys, here's to many, many more years of Aloha in your lives!

Mike & Nicole

Introducing Mike and Nicole!  This beautiful couple will be tying the knot in the Spring of 2013, but here's a preview of their Engagement Session.  Photographed in Elk Grove on the Laguna Creek Bike Trail, the fall colors really compliment these two.  Enjoy!

 

Monsters INC in Sacramento

So we've all seen the Pixar movie and the names Sully and Mike Wazowski are well known pop culture references.  But let's get real, Boo was the real star.  This adorable computer-created munchkin stole the hearts and imaginations of adults and children alike.  Now what if I told you she was real?  Yeah, don't believe me do you?  Well, seeing in believing and I recently had the pleasure of photographing the real live Boo (Leah) and her father Josh.  Not only is she adorable, but she's just as sweet in real life as she is in the movie.  Congratulations Josh!  You've created the cutest kid in the world, and I know you're so proud of her.  Cheers to Josh & Leah, and their Daddy/Daughter Photo session!

 

Sizzling Sirens 2013 Calendar

I've had the pleasure of photographing these lovely ladies for almost a year now.  When we began tossing the idea of a Siren calendar around sometime late summer, we knew we had to move on it!  The Sizzling Sirens are Sacramento's original leading ladies of Burlesque.  They bring Sacramento's ONLY monthly original burlesque show and boy to they bring it!  You can catch these talented vixens every Third Thursday of the month at Harlow's Restaurant and Nightclub.

I'm proud to say that the calendar was just released this week and is available for purchase on the Siren website or at their next show!

Christina & Wes

Wes proposed to Christina while on vacation in Italy and everything about their wedding was as magical and exciting as that trip!  This amazing couple tied the knot on September 8, 2012 at the Elk's Tower Ballroom in Sacramento, CA.  Here's a handful of my favorite images from their wedding.

Hey photo folks!  I finally did it... I went out and got a blog.  Welp, I've got a lot to catch up on, so you'll probably see some older stuff on here first, but as I get a handle on this blog thing, we'll move forward and I'll be able to show you all the new work I'm doing!  First things first, my signature image and hopefully how people will identify Jocelyn McGregor Photography for years to come.

This image was taken at Burning Man in 2008.  The lady standing inside this sculpture was actually being photographed by another photographer.  I merely stood back and observed, snapped a few shots and didn't realize what I had until I was back in the real world.  My favorite image of all time...
